Stock I bought last Friday 4/22

I posted my Watch List for last week and from 4 stocks I had on my list I picked CCL - Carnival Corporation.

Business Summary from Yahoo
Carnival Corporation operates as a leisure travel and cruise company in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. It offers cruises under the Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Seabourn brands in North America; and Costa, AIDA, P&O Cruises (UK), Cunard, and P&O Cruises (Australia) brands in Europe, Australia, and Asia. The company operates 99 cruise ships. It also owns Holland America Princess Alaska Tours, a tour company in Alaska and the Canadian Yukon, which owns and operates 11 hotels or lodges, approximately 300 motor coaches, and 20 glass-domed railcars. In addition, the company is involved in the leasing of cruise ships. It sells its cruises primarily through travel agents and tour operators. Carnival Corporation was incorporated in 1972 and is headquartered in Miami, Florida. Carnival Corporation operates as a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & Plc.

CCL - Carnival Corporation yields only 2.89% but for more than 15 years and this is a well known company.

I like the fact that at this moment this stock is trading below analyst predictions.

I also was going to buy RGR, but on Friday this stock went up by 2 dollars.

The company was founded in 1886 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.

I had this stock on my watch list for a while.

I like that at this moment this stock is trading close to lowest in 52 weeks.

I also like price target summary (yahoo)

Price Target Summary
Mean Target:125.14
Median Target:123.78
High Target:137.00
Low Target:116.00

I believe people will drink alcohol good or bad times.

Even if dividend yield 2.48% not so high, in my opinion overall this is a great stock to own and looks like a good addition to my portfolio.

I plan to make more purchases next week, so I will keep posting.

Thanks for reading.

Whirlpool WHR - added to my watch list

I added Whirlpool WHR to my watch list because the stock is trading at 139.23, which is in the middle of 52wk Range:118.92 - 160.01.

I really like this brand. All my major appliances in my house are Whirlpool. Out of all brands Whirlpool usually has one of the best ratings. My most recent purchase is my dishwasher. I replaced my old Whirlpool with a new one. Everytime I use it, I sing a song of praise to Whirpool. It's very quiet, fits twice the dishes than the old one and cleans very good.

Dividend yield is not very high 2.20%, but the company pays dividends for many years and slowly increase it.

PE 15.37.  1 year Target is $172. But if you look into historical prices, you will notice how prices vary.

Whirlpool buys 60% of struggling Italian brand Indesit (read here), and because of this investment Moody downgrades Whirlpool  due to increasing debts after this purchase. But it can be a two way road. If the Italian economy is struggling at this moment, I would think Whirlpool might get a good deal - like discounted price for business? Stakes in Italian brand can help Whirpool to enter and get more influence in European markets.

The Value Investor at Seeking Alpha is in doubt about Whirlpool here

TheStreet rated WHR as a Buy here.

My Weekly Stock Watch List (6/21)

I did not buy or sell any stocks this week but I discovered a new stock I would like to add to my portfolio -
CAG - ConAgra Food. I wrote about this stock here.

Here is my watch list for upcoming week*.
Stock Name, descriptionprice as 6/21Dividend Yield
CAGConAgra Foods inc$28.813.10%
ARIApollo Commercial Real Estate$16.659.50%
PGProcter & Gamble$79.933.20%
TGTTarget$58.293.00%
ROSTRoss Stores$67.941.20%
DRIDarden Restaurant group$47.584.40%
* If I move stock to this list, it means there was a price drop or current price is somewhere in the middle.
I do not buy stocks at their highest prices. I might miss some good stocks but I prefer to sit and wait.
If I have a stock on my list, it means I like something about this stock. If I buy one of these stocks, it does not mean I plan to keep them forever. I might sell them if their price would go up a lot and I feel it's time to sell.

I love Sales on my regular shopping sprays and I use this strategy for my stock shopping... :)

Read my post about ARI and PG hereROST here.

I added DRI Darden Restaurant group back to my watch list. Their profit declined but they pay dividends since 1995.  I know how everybody in our area loves Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse. So if stock prices would go down more, I might consider buying this stock.

My Weekly Stock Watch List (6/15)

This week I finally was able to buy some stocks.

I bought more of ARCP@11.98 and also PG@79.83.

I wrote about ARCP here. I am kind of concerned that they are selling 76 shopping centers. Read article here. On the other side I believe that they might have a good plan for acquiring new properties.

Here is my watch list for upcoming week*.

ARIApollo Commercial Real Estate$16.689.50%
SBSISouthside Bank$27.333.30%

At this moment on my most wanted list is ARI because I really like dividend yield. This stock looks pretty safe to me but I am waiting to see if the price will go down a little.

I am happy that I finally was able to buy PG.

Read my previous post about ARI and PG last week hereROST and SBSI here.

I probably will not be able to buy any stocks following week because I spent my play money on a new dishwasher, grill and also had to prepay homeowner and home warranty insurance. But I might sell some of my non dividends stocks and buy dividends stocks. I will keep you updated.

My stock Watching List and Stock purchases

This week I purchased shares of

PFE@$29.10, CNP@$23.59 and Ford@$15.57.

WFMWhole Food Market$37.911.20%
VZVerizon$49.074.40%
DRIDarden Restaurant group$48.494.40%

I added Verizon and Darden Restaurant group to watch.

I need to add more communication stocks to my list and Verizon looks like a good match. I believe Verizon and AT&T are two main wireless companies. Even if I am a customer of AT&T I believe Verizon has a higher quality of their wireless service. When I used to live in a house with a bad reception my AT&T phone would not have service in some part of my house but my friends with Verizon never had any problems.

Read Motley Fool article or Wallstcheatsheet.com for latest reviews.

Darden Restaurant group just got rid of Red Lobster but from the list of other restaurants they own, I know very well Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse. Not sure if I want to buy their stocks right now but I want to watch it for now.

Whole Food Market - not a dividend stock but as I wrote last week here I might still buy some shares.
I believe this company has a potential because younger generation are more concerned about healthy eating and willing to spend money at places like this one.
