Stock I bought today 2/26/2016

Yesterday I posted my short list to pick from for my purchase.

Today I purchased DEO - Diageo plc.

 I noticed not so many people know about this stock.

Diageo plc produces, markets, and sells alcoholic beverages worldwide. It offers scotch and Irish whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, beer and spirits, Irish cream liqueurs, wine, Raki, tequila, Canadian and American whiskey, Cachaça, and brandy, as well as adult beverages and ready to drink products. The company’s premium brands comprise Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Tanqueray, and Guinness. I had this stock on my watch list for a while.

I like that at this moment this stock is trading close to lowest in 52 weeks. 

I also like price target summary (yahoo)

Mean Target:125.14
Median Target:123.78
High Target:137.00
Low Target:116.00


I believe people will drink alcohol good or bad times.

Even if dividend yield 2.48% not so high, in my opinion overall this is a great stock to own and looks like a good addition to my portfolio.

I plan to make more purchases next week, so I will keep posting.

  1. We actually looked at DEO as a potential purchase this past month but ended up purchasing TGT instead. Would love to add DEO in the future. Love that market sector.

  2. Great buy. Love DEO and have owned it since 2007. Very solid business and recession resistant especially with the number of great brands this company owns. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hey HHWG,

    Seems like a decent choice! In Holland we have Heineken, but they don't pay (much) dividends I think.
    However, the only Heineken family member still alive (5th generation), is in the top 3 of richest persons of the country.

    So yea, I guess it's a good business to own!
