Project: Dividend Stocks for Teenager September update

I wrote how we started Dividend Stocks portfolio for my daughter before

Project-dividends-stocks-for-teenager Part 1

Here is our first dividends month update.

In September her portfolio earned $49.81

EMR$12.22
JNJ$9.75
SE$15.91
XOM$11.68
interest$0.25
Total$49.81

Dividends were automatically reinvested.

Well, she does not pay close attention to her portfolio because we don't need to use this money yet and I guess it's good for now, since the market is not treating us very well at this moment.

I only mentioned to her that her stocks earned about $50 this month.

  1. Awesome job earning $50 for your daughter. I think it's very important for parents to invest for their kids as they have the biggest advantage of all, time. Time to compound, time to grow. Because of all that time a child has, a parent doesn't have to break the bank to set up investments for their kids. Small amounts will do just fine. I started a dividend growth portfolio for baby DivHut a couple months after he was born. Happy to read about other like minded parents. I see some similar names in your income report as mine. EMR is looking to be quite popular these days.

    1. yes I was putting small amounts into 529 accounts for both kids since they were little and it's amazing how small amounts add up. It's great that you started a portfolio for your baby the moment he was born!
