This week I finally bought more shares of Ford (F). I had a small amount of shares and now I was able to increase my holdings. I don't own Ford car but I like this brand. Plus Ex-Dividends date for Ford is next week - October 29.
I missed my opportunity to buy GE when it was trading at the lowest because I usually buy stocks on Fridays and for some weird reason Friday October 17 was the day when stock market turned around to higher prices.

I do not buy stocks at their highest prices. I might miss some good stocks but I prefer to sit and wait.* If I move stock to this list, it means there was a price drop or current price is somewhere in the middle.
If I have a stock on my list, it means I like something about this stock. If I buy one of these stocks, it does not mean I plan to keep them forever. I might sell them if their price would go up a lot and I feel it's time to sell.

Thanks for sharing your recent watch list with us. I happen to like three of the names you mention above. TOT, UL and GE. I just added some UL last month and may still average down a bit before October is over. TOT like BP and other oil majors got crushed a couple weeks ago as oil slid but now seems to have stabilized a bit. These days, nothing is truly stable. The yield on TOT is really nice even with the French withholding. You'd be hard pressed to find another oil major with such a high yield. Thanks for sharing and curious to see which buy you will make.

DeleteI just found PSEC and it looks like an interesting stock, which pay dividends monthly. So I might look into buying some shares and watch it closely because 12% looks so appealing!
I think TOT went down because people not sure about new guidance since their CEO was killed in a weird airplane accident in Russia last week.
Nice watch list I had many of them on my watch list too. I've had my eye on T, GSK, UL, MCD, ARCP, JNJ, GE, KO and IBM. All seem pretty cheap at the moment.

Thanks for sharing your watch list! yes, all these stocks on my watch list but because I try to keep my portfolio even, so for now I have enough of GSK, MCD, ARCP, and KO... I might add more after I increase the size of my portfolio eventually. I want to increase my position in T and add GE to my portfolio. Good luck for next week trading!

ReplyDeleteSolid list. UL was one of my more recent purchases and I'm looking to buy more in November, if possible. I just recently added to my IBM position due to what I feel is a compelling valuation.
