Investment Activity the Week of July 15 2019

Hello Guys,
This week I didn't sell any stocks. I was thinking to sell some of my DEO positions but then changed my mind.
Bought
more of CCL - 22 shares. So far I have 73 shares my goal is to get 100, so I can use room credit when I am cruising with Carnival.
more of SPG - 5 shares
BGS - 52 shares
TCO - 38 shares
more of IGT - 38 shares

It will add $335 to my yearly dividend income.

I am getting free trades and this is why I can buy in small lots.

Also this week I used Discover saving account offer - $200 one time if you put $25,000 plus 2.05%
on your invested amount. I like that I still can move money around if I needed and 2% is not so bad while I am looking for another ways to invest.

How was your week?

Next week I will be cruising on my almost free Carnival cruise but I still will try to keep up with stocks whenever I can.

I opened LendingClub account

I am very excited to let you all know that I finally open my LendingClub account.

I decided to put just $100 per month for now and see how it work.

So I picked 4 notes, each $25 dollars.

Note 1 - 5.32%

Note 2 - 10.49%

Note 3 - 10.49%

Note 4 - 17.99%

When I pick my notes I checked
- credit score of borrower
- reason for borrowing
- occupation and ownership/rent
- number of delinquencies

Project: Dividends Stocks for Teenager - She picked her own stock

When I started this project I basically was pushing my daughter to pick stocks. 

Now when she switched her major to Accounting, she started studying Financial Statements of different companies.

So after one week in Accounting class she approached me and demanded to invest into Amazon stock. 

And I purchased 2 shares of Amazon stock for her. 

I know this is not a dividend stock but I thought that she can have at least one stock in her portfolio, which truly was her choice. :)

Project: Dividends Stocks for Teenager - new stock purchased

I wrote in December that my daughter accumulated enough money to invest into another stock.

I created a list of stocks for her to choose from.

Today she finally made her choice.

She picked RY - Royal Bank of Canada. 

Here how she made her choice.

First she already had my list with 26 stocks. 

Then I suggested to look into Canadian banks stocks because it would be good for her portfolio balance.

She said, "Oh, it looks like lots of my friends went to Canada for visit", so I might pick one.

Then she noticed that according to 1 year target price RY shares might go up at least by $10. 

We are going to invest her Christmas money as well, so I will post another update soon. 

She is thinking about WHR - Whirlpool or T-AT&T. Probably WHR because she already has shares of T in her portfolio. But we will see. :)

Loyal3 December Purchases and Dividends

I opened my Loyal3 account in October and wrote about my October investment here.

This is my third month and another $200.00 to invest. 

I am up 2% overall so far.

Here is a little picture for you. 

As I mentioned in my previous posts I invest $200 every month.

So this month I am investing $100 in Walmart stocks, $50 in FTR and $50 in Macy's.

Loyal3 November purchases

Last month I opened my Loyal3 account and wrote about my October investment here.

Here is November and another $200 to invest.

I again purchased 4 stocks this month, $50 each - YUM, FTR, KSS and M.

Initially I planned to buy more of Walmart but switched to Macy's.

It's funny how it feels so different when you just invest $50 into each stock.

Opening Loyal3 account vs Extra mortgage payments

After reading other bloggers experience with Loyal3 for a while, I kept thinking about opening my own account but I was not sure if I have an extra income to invest.

Well, I was putting extra $300 toward my mortgage payments but since I have 3.5% interest rate I decided to start investing $200 into Loyal3 account.

At this point I believe it will be better for me to have cash invested in stocks, which I can pull out if I need to, especially if I pick dividend stocks. In a long run it is much easier to sell a stock than refinance a mortgage. Plus eventually I plan to turn my house into a rental property.

So far I bought 4 stocks, each $50 worth of investment - Frontier, Walmart, GAP and Store capital.

From now on I will keep track of my Loyal3 account here.

I purchased shares of RY (Royal Bank of Canada) today.

I might be able to rebalance my portfolio this week and this will give me some money to invest into new stocks.
